Jeremiah Horrocks and the Transit of Venus
Temporary exhibition in the 17th century listed Astley Hall to celebrate the Transit of Venus, a rare astrological event first observed by local man Jeremiah Horrocks. The exhibition also included key figures of astronomy and covered life in the 17th century from witchcraft to medicine. A simple pole and panel system was used as no fixings could be made into the fabric of the listed building. Exterior banners and signage were installed around the park.
